It is a multi-purpose cutting guide and layout tool all in one! It works with all major brands of spiral saws and rotary tools. It precisely guides the saw for you. It sets an exactly straight cutting path for you to cut along. Because it guides the saw you can make straight cuts with it as fast as the saw is able to cut the material. And it provides you a perfectly flat, smooth, and stable surface against which to move the saw while cutting.
The template has an easy-to-grip handle and has gripping pads made of a special material on its underside. The handle allows you to comfortably hold and place the template where you need to cut. Together the handle and gripping pads allow you to securely hold the template in place entirely by hand to make cuts! The handle allows you to hold and tension the template against the material which causes the gripping pads to be compressed. The compressed gripping pads generate friction. The friction generated by the gripping pads, together with you holding the handle, are what make the template stay securely in place while cutting.

Because this template is used to make straight cuts it is often easiest to have a guide line for long cuts and an outline for the hole on the material so you know exactly where to cut. It has built-in alignment marks on each end of its pattern. Simply align the template's marks with your line and you're ready to cut.
And to make things even easier you can also use the template to layout and mark the lines for your cuts and holes. It has two built-in levels so that you can quickly and accurately align it both vertically and horizontally. With the built-in levels you can quickly and accurately align the templates long straight side and use it to mark perfectly level and plumb lines. The template even has a handy ruler along this side to make measuring easy. And you can use the templates corners to mark for 30°, 45°, and 90° angles.
