The template has an easy-to-grip handle that allows you to comfortably hold and place the template where you need the hole to be. It holds in place with a single screw and will stay securely in place overhead by itself. With it you can cut the entire hole with one cut. Once you cut all the way around the pattern to its end you pause cutting, rotate the template, and then finish cutting the hole. The screw acts as a pivot so that you can rotate the template and ensures that your holes will always be perfectly round. The cutout plug comes out with the template and you can then remove the screw and dispose of the template.
With it you can easily and safely cut holes in painted and textured ceilings without damaging the finish and having to make repairs. It shields and protects the finished area surrounding the hole and prevents the saw's guide foot from rubbing against the finish so that it doesn't get scratched or scuffed. And with it you can easily cut holes in ceiling tiles without breaking them.
With it you do not have to trace an outline for the hole onto the material in order to cut the hole. A single mark for the hole's center is all that's needed to correctly position the template for cutting.
